Our last vlog entry from our May 2022 cruise on the Harmony of the Seas finds us on the upper decks around mid-afternoon. We were both enjoying the day and also searching for a good spot to set up for a YouTube Livestream. The weather was very nice, so the passengers were making the most of their final few hours in the ship’s pools.

On the last day of our cruise on the Royal Caribbean ship Harmony of the Seas in May of 2022, the Captain held a Q&A session in the Aqua Theater called appropriately enough, the Captain’s Corner. This wasn’t the best venue for this as most of the previous cruises we’ve been on have held this Q&A inside the ship in the Royal Theater.

Walking On The Track
On the Harmony of the Seas, the running track on Deck 5 encircles the ship, providing a space to run, jog, or walk for exercise. As we see in episode 93 of the vlog from our May 2022 cruise on the Harmony, the running track at the aft of the ship also provides the best wake view.

Walking On The Track
On the Harmony of the Seas, the running track on Deck 5 is a great way to get some exercise and burn off some calories from those trips to the Windjammer. In episode 92 of the vlog from our May 2022 cruise on the Harmony, it’s late afternoon on Day 6, and I’ve decided on a few laps before heading back to the stateroom.

As the Harmony of the Seas was cruising back to Port Canaveral, Florida, on day 6 of a 7-day cruise in May of 2022, we spent the sea day casually wandering around the ship. In episode 91 of the vlog from that cruise on the Harmony, we’re on Deck 4 in the Jazz On 4 space, which has since been converted to a non-smoking casino.

On the Harmony of the Seas, the Park Cafe, located in Central Park on Deck 8, provides yet another dining option on the ship. In episode 89 of the vlog from our May 2022 cruise on the Harmony, we’ve decided on the Park Cafe for a late afternoon lunch.

Popular For Weddings
During our seven-night cruise on the Harmony of the Seas in May of 2022, we noticed that Dazzles was closed for a wedding on several occasions. Due to its features, size, and location on Decks 8 and 9, Dazzles is apparently quite popular for weddings during a Royal Caribbean cruise.

On Day 6 of our cruise on the Harmony of the Seas in May of 2022, we spent some time walking around Central Park on Deck 8. This unique feature of the Oasis-class ships makes for a relaxing place to sit and enjoy lunch from the Park Cafe or a drink from the nearby Trellis Bar.

Towards the end of a Royal Caribbean cruise, you can almost always count on a t-shirt sale of some kind or another. Depending on the ship, such as the Harmony of the Seas, the shirts can be displayed in the middle of the Royal Promenade, as we saw during Day 6 of our May 2022 cruise on the Harmony.

Disco Inferno
In our vlog series from a cruise on the Harmony of the Seas in May 2022, we’ve finally reached the episode of the 70s Disco Party! The crew of the Harmony moved the part from the Royal Promenade to the Aquatheater, but it was still the same fun event with the very familiar soundtrack Royal Caribbean uses for seemingly every disco party.

Stateroom Attendant
During our cruise on the Harmony of the Seas in May 2022, our stateroom attendant fell ill and had to take a few days off. Thankfully, another crew member was able to take over his duties for our stateroom. We are always appreciative of the work and dedication of the Royal Caribbean crew members.

Over the many years of cruising with Royal Caribbean, we’ve had the opportunity to try many of the drinks on the drink menus at bars on the various ships we’ve cruised on. Some of the drinks are very popular and tend to show up on the drink menus on most of the ships in the fleet. On the Harmony of the Seas, the Boardwalk is a busy area on the ship when the passengers are not off exploring a port of call. We’re walking around recording some video before meeting up later at the Mast Bar for a drink.

On a beautiful afternoon in May of 2022, the Harmony of the Seas departed from Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis, with a destination of Port Canaveral, Florida. St. Kitts is still visible on the horizon from Deck 16 at the stern of the ship as the Aqua Show continues down on Deck 6.

Diving Below
From Deck 16 at the stern of the Harmony of the Seas, the view of the Aquatheater below is quite unique. In episode 68 of the vlog from our May 2022 cruise, a show is currently underway at the Aquatheater as the ship is slowly pulling away from the cruise port at Basseterre in St. Kitts & Nevis.

As the Harmony of the Seas pulled away from the cruise port at Basseterre in St. Kitts & Nevis in May of 2022, the Aquatheater show on Deck 6 was in full swing. The best views of the sail away were from Deck 16, next to the Abyss and the Flowriders.

Aquatheater Show
After a full day of fun in Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis, in May 2022, the Harmony of the Seas began sailing away. The wake view from Deck 16 of the ship provided fantastic scenery as the Aquatheater show was getting started down on Deck 6.

Down To Deck 6
On the Harmony of the Seas, the Ultimate Abyss dry slide ends on Deck 6, right next to the Aqua Theater. In episode 65 of the vlog from our May 2022 cruise on the Harmony of the Seas, Maria has decided to try the Ultimate Abyss, so after recording her start on the slide up on Deck 16, I’m making my way down to Deck 6 to meet up with her by the Aqua Theater.

The Ultimate Abyss
While the Harmony of the Seas was docked in Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis, and most of the passengers were either still ashore or elsewhere on the ship, Maria decided to try the Ultimate Abyss dry slide located on deck 16 of the ship. She later reported that the slide was very fun and something she would probably do again on a future cruise on an Oasis-class ship that featured the slide.

View Of Basseterre
As the time for the Harmony of the Seas departure from Basseterre, St. Kitts, approached, I wanted to make sure I was next to the Flowriders at the back of the ship to get the best view for the sail away. After a busy day in St. Kitts, it was time to say goodbye as the ship began cruising toward Port Canaveral, Florida.

Flowriders
Because the Oasis class ships from Royal Caribbean are so large, they feature two Flowrider surfing simulators by the sports court at the aft of the ship. We’ve never tried them, but they look enjoyable and are a big attraction during a cruise. In this video, we’re hanging around the back of the ship waiting for the departure from Basseterre, St. Kitts, and Maria is interested in the Ultimate Abyss slide.
July 21, 2023 – Episode 61
Zipline
In May 2022, we cruised on the Harmony of the Seas, which included a stop at Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis. Once we were back on the ship from a shore excursion, we headed to the Windjammer for lunch and then to the sports deck so Maria could do the zipline. She tried the zipline on the Oasis of the Seas back in 2017 and had a great time, so naturally, she wanted to ride the zipline on the Harmony of the Seas, and since most of the passengers were still off the ship in Basseterre, it seemed like a good time.

Long Walk Back To The Ship
If your cruise itinerary includes St. Kitts & Nevis, the distance between the ship and the cruise terminal in Basseterre is significant. For our May 2022 cruise on the Harmony of the Seas, we left the ship for a shore excursion in Basseterre. When the excursion was over, and it was time to head back, we encountered the long walk back to the ship.

St. Kitts Cruise Port
While the Harmony of the Seas was docked nearby in Basseterre St. Kitts, we explored the St. Kitts cruise port after our shore excursion. The locals were kind and welcoming, offering assistance and recommendations as we perused the various shops and vendors. The variety of unique and intriguing items captured the essence of the island’s culture and history. There’s plenty to see for passengers who just want to get off the ship and explore the port.

Shorex – Exiting The Train In Basseterre
In May 2022, the Harmony of the Seas visited Basseterre in St. Kitts & Nevis. For a shore excursion in St. Kitts, we chose a train tour that lasted a few hours and took us through most of the island. In this video, the train portion of the excursion ended, so it was time for us to board the air-conditioned coach to return to the cruise port.

Shorex – Masquerade Dance Troupe
While the Harmony of the Seas was docked in Basseterre St. Kitts & Nevis in May 2022, we were off the ship on a shore excursion touring the island by train. One of the unique aspects of the train tour was watching the Masquerade Dance Troupe. The music was lively and upbeat; they performed with energy and passion. It was a fantastic cultural experience and something we’d never seen before.

St. Kitts By Train
While the Harmony of the Seas was docked in Basseterre, we were off the ship on a train tour of St. Kitts. We could see so much of the island and take in the beautiful scenery from the comfort of our seats. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience rather than your typical cruise shore excursion. Besides the view, we were also treated to some adult beverages and entertainment from the local Masquerade Dance Troupe.

Boarding The Train In Basseterre
While the Harmony of the Seas was docked at Basseterre St. Kitts, our shore excursion explored the island on a scenic train tour. Seeing the beautiful scenery and learning about the local culture was a fantastic experience. The train ride was comfortable, and the tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We got to see some of the island’s hidden gems, try local beverages, and watch as the local dancers put on a show.

Shore Excursion In Basseterre
During our stop in Basseterre St. Kitts & Nevis while aboard the Harmony of the Seas in May 2022, we ventured off the ship to take part in a shore excursion. It was a fantastic opportunity to explore the local culture and see the Island, as this was our first time visiting St. Kitts & Nevis. We had a wonderful time, and it was a great way to break up the cruise and some time off the ship for a little while. Overall, our time in port was very nice, and we would definitely recommend St. Kitts & Nevis to anyone considering an eastern Caribbean cruise.

Long Walk In Basseterre St. Kitts & Nevis
In May 2022, we cruised on the Harmony of the Seas for a 7-night cruise out of Port Canaveral Florida. One of the ports of call during this journey was the Caribbean destination of Basseterre in St. Kitts & Nevis. The distance from the ship to the cruise terminal was quite a walk, much longer than it seemed when we were still on the ship. Overall, we had a great time in St. Kitts & Nevis and really enjoyed the experience.

The passengers on a Harmony of the Seas cruise in May 2022 received an exciting announcement from the captain that the ship was about to arrive in Basseterre, St. Kitts. They were informed of the open itinerary and were encouraged to explore the beautiful island along with the all-aboard time for the port stop.

Approaching St. Kitts & Nevis
One of the best reasons to get an oceanview balcony for your cruise is the ability to roll out of bed early in the morning and step out on the balcony to view the ocean and the port where you’re about to dock. In episode 51 of the vlog from our May 2022 cruise on the Harmony of the Seas, it’s early in the morning and we’re approaching Basseterre, the capital of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

When the Harmony of the Seas stopped in Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas U.S.V.I. in May 2022, we got off the ship and wandered around the cruise port, with a little shopping in mind. In episode 50 of the vlog from that cruise, I noticed a saxophone player in front of a store/restaurant/bar called the Island Flavor.

Large Iguanas In Charlotte Amalie
The U.S. Virgin Islands are home to green iguanas, who Biologists believe arrived on the islands from Anguilla after a hurricane in 1995 by floating on clumps of tree debris. In episode 49 of the vlog from our May 2022 cruise on the Harmony of the Seas, we’re walking around in the cruise port in Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas and the iguanas are hard to miss.

Learn To Dance
In episode 44 of the vlog from our May 2022 cruise on the Royal Caribbean ship Harmony of the Seas, it was a sea day and after a great breakfast in the Solarium Bistro, we headed to Starbucks on Deck 6 for the special coffee they’re known for. On the way, we passed a group of passengers learning how to dance.

Promenade Food At Night
While we love the Oasis class ships from Royal Caribbean, the one part of the ship that doesn’t measure up to smaller ships in the fleet is the Cafe Promenade. In episode 43 of the vlog from our May 2022 cruise on the Harmony of the Seas, we’re on the Royal Promenade after dinner on our first formal night and we’re looking for a little snack in the Cafe Promenade.

For the Harmony of the Seas, Royal Caribbean seems to have moved away from a dedicated nightclub and created the Attic to function as both a comedy club and nightclub depending on the time of night during the cruise. Located on Deck 4 of the Harmony of the Seas, the Diamond Club is an exclusive lounge for Diamond and above status in the Crown & Anchor system with Royal Caribbean.
