The Train Station In Venice Italy
After a few days in Venice, Italy, before the start of our nine-night Mediterranean cruise on the Norwegian Viva in October 2024, it was time to head over to the Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia train station and catch a train to Ferrara and then on to Ravenna. The station in Venice is right next to one of the main canals, so naturally, you take a water taxi from your hotel.
December 25, 2024 – Episode 9
Low Ceilings In The Water Taxi In Venice Italy
Before our October 2024 nine-night Mediterranean cruise on the Norwegian Viva would depart from Ravenna, Italy, we spent a few nights in Venice. Every time we boarded a water taxi in Venice, we both had to be careful not to hit our heads on the low ceilings of the boats. As I’m six feet tall, it was more of a problem for me than Maria.
December 18, 2024 – Episode 8
The Beautiful Scenery In Corfu Greece
About half-way through our nine-night Mediterranean cruise on the Norwegian Viva in October 2024, we visited Corfu, Greece. We spent a few hours off the ship walking around the area of the Old Fortress, Spianada Square, and Eleftherias Avenue.
December 11, 2024 – Episode 7
Norwegian Viva Leaving Kuşadası Türkiye
When we started planning a Mediterranean cruise in the Fall of 2024, the Norwegian Viva offered a unique opportunity to visit this part of the world for the first time and see amazing countries like Türkiye. When the ship visited Kuşadası, it confirmed for us that we’d made the right decision on the choice of ship and itinerary for this magical Mediterranean vacation. After a very nice shore excursion in Kuşadası, it was time to head to Istanbul.
December 4, 2024 – Episode 6
Game Of Thrones Filming Locations In Dubrovnik Croatia
When we were planning our October 2024 Mediterranean cruise on the Norwegian Viva and were looking at shore excursions for Dubrovnik, Croatia, the excursion that visited the filming locations for the TV show Game of Thrones was a must. Having seen the show since it started airing on TV, the real locations that represented King’s Landing were too much to resist. We climbed a massive amount of stairs during this excursion, but it was worth it.
November 27, 2024 – Episode 5
Getting Ready For Split Croatia On The Norwegian Viva
With the Norwegian Viva docked in Split, Croatia, in October 2024, we left the stateroom in the morning to get that Starbucks coffee down on Deck 7 before heading up to the Surfside Cafe buffet on Deck 17 for breakfast. The Starbucks on the Norwegian Viva is nice and large, and as it happens, is the only place to get a proper specialty coffee on the ship.
November 20, 2024 – Episode 4
First Time Experiencing The Canals Of Venice Italy
The first time we walked up to a canal in Venice, Italy, was definitely something to remember. We’ve traveled to a lot of cities over the years, but Venice is in a class by itself. With a cruise on the Norwegian Viva departing from Ravenna, Italy, in October 2024, Venice, Italy, was the natural choice for flying in from Orlando, Florida, where we live. If you’re going to fly into Venice for a cruise, it’s natural to want to spend a few days there before boarding the train to head down to Ravenna.
November 13, 2024 – Episode 3
Heading To Emilia-Romagna Italy From The Norwegian Viva
While the Norwegian Viva was still docked in Ravenna, Italy, in October 2024, we departed the ship on the morning of the second day of the cruise to go on a shore excursion to a winery in the Emilia-Romagna area of Italy. The first part of the excursion, as seen in this episode, visited the Brisighella province outside Ravenna.
November 6, 2024 – Episode 2
First Impressions Of The Norwegian Viva
When we walked out of the cruise terminal (tent) in Ravenna, Italy, on October 10, 2024, the Norwegian Viva was staring us in the face. This was a new cruise ship for us and our first time cruising with Norwegian Cruise Line. This video covers our initial impressions of the ship during the first few hours of the cruise.

Norwegian Viva – Balcony Stateroom 14178 – TOUR!
What would become our home away from home for NINE nights during a Mediterranean cruise in October 2024 is the stateroom tour for balcony stateroom 14178 on deck 14, port side of the Norwegian Viva! This is a very well-designed layout with some excellent features that we really enjoyed during our cruise.
