Victoria British Columbia – Beavertails
As our Alaska cruise on the Ovation of the Seas was winding down in August 2019, we spent a full day in Victoria British Columbia before returning to Seattle the next morning. In the last vlog episode from that cruise, we were shopping for t-shirts in downtown Victoria when I noticed a strange hot dog vendor called Beavertails.

Victoria British Columbia – Visitor’s Center
Due to an outdated US law, Alaska cruises from Seattle must stop in Canada, so Victoria British Columbia is often featured on the itinerary for those cruises. In episode 116 of the vlog from our August 2019 Alaska cruise on the Ovation of the Seas, our BC Bites & Sites shore excursion was over so we spent some time around the Victoria BC visitor center before returning to the ship.

In episode 115 of the vlog from our August 2019 Alaska cruise on the Ovation of the Seas, we’re in Victoria British Columbia on a shore excursion called the BC Bites & Sites and we’ve stopped at a unique tobacco store in downtown Victoria.

Cruise Excursion – Swans Brewery & Pub
While the Ovation of the Seas was docked in Victoria British Columbia in August 2019, we were off the ship on a shore excursion called the BC Bites & Sites. In episode 113 of the vlog from that Alaska cruise on the Ovation of the Seas, the guide for our excursion brought us to the Swans Brewery & Pub.
February 20, 2023 – Episode 112
Cruise Excursion – BC Water Taxi
During our BC Bites & Sites walking tour while the Ovation of the Seas was docked in Victoria, British Columbia, we got to take a short ride on a water taxi. In episode 112 of the vlog from our August 2019 Alaska cruise on the Ovation of the Seas, we get picked up by the water taxi in the Fisherman’s Wharf area and get dropped off by Chinatown.

Cruise Excursion – BC Fisherman’s Wharf
Not far from where the cruise ships dock in Victoria British Columbia, you’ll find the Fisherman’s Wharf. In episode 111 of the vlog from our August 2019 Alaska cruise on the Ovation of the Seas, we’re on the BC Bites & Sites cruise excursion and we’re visiting the wharf before catching a water taxi over to the downtown area.
